Huge Waves And Storm Surge from Cyclone Merbok Remnants – Nome, Alaska – 9/17/2022

Aftermath video was captured during the afternoon of September 17, 2022, from Nome, Alaska as Post Tropical Cyclone Merbok continues to wreak havoc across the region. The peak conditions are expected this afternoon with the North Sound observation station in Nome reporting the surge of around 9 feet as of 2:45 PM CT. The combination of high seas and high tide is resulting in major coastal flooding in Nome. Strong winds are also resulting in power outages and wind damage across the region.
