Southern, IL Slick Roads & Crashes 1/15/2018

Winter Weather Advisory was in effect across southern Illinois on Monday morning as snow moved in overnight, leading to some hazardous travel Monday morning. Snow came down heavy at times, snowing as much as three inches in the region in just a few hours. Area roads became snow-covered and slick, leading to several crashes, including a semi crash on I-57 near Mt. Vernon that closed the right lane southbound for several hours. Video package shot in two parts, daytime stuff taken in Mt. Vernon on I-57 and the nighttime early morning shots from Perry County in and near Du Quoin.
