6/10/2015 Cozad, NE Street Flooding

Severe storms erupted across central Nebraska Wednesday afternoon prompting a severe thunderstorm watch and numerous warnings. Some storms did produce hail, but high winds and flooding rains were the biggest threats. Storms east of North Platte prompted a flash flood warning as up to 3-inches of rain fell. One such area was the I-80 town of Cozad that took a direct hit from a severe-warned storm. Some pea-sized hail fell, but the storm dumped over 2-inches of rain in about 30 minutes and lead to numerous streets in town becoming flooded.

Video package opens with structure shots of the approaching storm, followed by shots of high winds an rain in town. The back half of the package includes shots of traffic navigating flooded streets.
