Kansas City Metro Area experienced SubZero Temperatures on Monday Morning, March 3, 2014 following a Winter Storm Warning.
The temps bottomed out this morning at the Kansas City International Airport at -6 degrees with a 6 mph N winds dropping the Wind Chill to a blistering -19 degrees around 7am.
By 8a/9a this morning the temperature was between -2 to 1 degree with a Wind Chill of -13 degrees. The Metro area did not stand still as there were people walking to bus stops, digging their cars out of the snow from the winter storm the previous day. There was even a dog that was enjoying the snow even though it was on a leash.
The prior record for this day was set in 1978 with a temp of -1F. This morning temps in the area dropped to -6F at the KC International airport.
