A strong storm system worked through the Midwest today, bringing severe weather across Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Missouri, while across the Upper Midwest a winter storm was occurring where ice, sleet, and up to 4-6 inches of snow, locally higher amounts near 8 inches could be possible. Freezing rain and sleet early in the day changed over to all snow by the evening hours leading to slick conditions across the Twin Cities area.
