The winter weather system hit central Minnesota hard today with several inches of heavy wet snow after the weather winter storm watch was downgraded to a winter weather advisory and caught everyone off guard on the roads. Many of the area schools around Stearns County are closing early due to the weather making it extremely dangerous to travel due to the icy conditions.
