Severe weather is on tap for much of the Southern US beginning tonight (Wednesday, February 16) across the Southern Plains and continuing into tomorrow across the Southeast. Tonight, storms will be capable of mostly damaging winds and large hail, but a tornado threat does exist, particularly near the Red River after midnight. These storms will persist into tomorrow morning, and renewed storm development is expected across Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee tomorrow afternoon with a threat for damaging winds and a few tornadoes.
