People wonder why it costs so much to do ice recovery when a vehicle or fish house goes through the ice. It is because “NO ICE IS EVER SAFE” and this time the crew found out just how unsafe the ice was tonight.
This video package shows how dangerous ice recoveries can be. What started of as a regular ice recovery went south in a hurry. The ice castle and ice recovery equipment did end up going through the ice or Rice Lake. No one was hurt. Ice conditions up here in northwestern WI. remains the worst I have ever seen it, in all my time on the ice. This video was shot during the later hours of Saturday night.
