At 7:50pm, a Dust Storm Warning was issued by the NWS in Goodland, KS for Logan, Gove and Sheridan counties in Kansas until 9pm for visibility that may be reduced down to zero. This warning was a result of a strong gust front that developed ahead of a line of strong to severe storms across the area capable of producing 70 mph winds and ping pong size hail.
As the system progressed east, a shelf cloud developed with 70 mph winds, hail, heavy rain, and frequent lightning being the main threats.
