LaCrosse, IN Storm Damage – 5/2/2018

Around 6:30 pm on May 2, 2018 a line of severe storms moved through Northwest Indiana with damaging wind up to 70 mph and hail up to ping pong ball size. Several trees were reported down across the region including these two on Highway 421 near the Kankakee River in LaPorte County. Emergency crews closed off 421 for about a half hour to 45 minutes while crews worked to clear the trees from the road.

Clip 1: Firefighters from Railroad Volunteer Fire Department cut up a tree that had fallen on the road in heavy rain and thunder and lightning
Clip 2: Fire truck blocks Highway 421 while crews in the background work to remove another tree that was blocking the road in heavy rain and storms. Behind them another rescue vehicle blocks traffic from going south bound.
Clip 3-5: More fire trucks block the road so traffic while crews work to remove the trees from the roadway.
