Central IA Snowmelt & High Winds – 2/19/2016

Warm and windy conditions where common across Iowa Thursday and Friday of this week (2/18 & 2/19). This caused rapid snow melt of the snow pack in the central part of the state. The first 7 clips where taken 1 mile south of Madrid, IA along Highway 17. The clips show runoff from the snow melt coming out of a farm field.

Clips 8 – 18 are shots from Des Moines and Saylorville Lake of the warm and very wind conditions seen in Central Iowa today (2/19). The windy conditions are shown in the clips of the state capitol building.

Clip 8 and 9 are of ducks enjoying the warm weather down at Water Works Park in Des Moines. Clips 10 and 11 are of the swollen Raccoon River at Water Works Park in Des Moines. Clip 12 – 16 are at the Iowa state capitol building showing the warm and windy conditions from this morning at around 10AM. Finally clips 17 and 18 where taken at the Saylorville Lake Marina showing the dangerous ice conditions.
