12/5/2013 Western, MN Subzero Frigid Morning

Video footage package from the Minnesota/South Dakota border region the early morning after an intense winter storm system which dumped a fresh 10 inches of snow just the hours prior.

Bitter cold arctic air has invaded the Upper Midwest on the back side of the storm system leading to widespread sub-zero temperatures, ice coved roadway and dangerous outdoor activities.

Footage includes, Montivideo,MN local bank & business thermometer readings in the sub-zero range as well as Heavy snow removal equipment struggling to open up snow drifted in roadways with snow drifts up to 3 feet high!

Also video includes a Rare winter weather occurrence of a strong SUNDOG on either side of the rising sun with the atmospheric conditions just coming together perfectly in the area for this rare weather phenomenon.
