8/9/2013 Massac County, IL Severe Storm Damage

A large complex of rain moving into southern Illinois intensified and bowed out as it reached the I-57/I-24 corridor leading to severe thunderstorm warnings and even prompted a tornado warning north of Paducah as a bookend vortex formed on the northern edge of the line. While no tornadoes were reported, there was scattered damage associated with the straight line winds likely exceeding 60mph in areas.

Scene 3-5: Shots of the truck that hydroplaned off I-57 at MM21 south of Dongola. The driver was okay, but the southbound truck spun 180-degrees across both lanes into the median and came to rest without further incident.
