Multiple Tornadoes and Flooding Near Sycamore, IL – 8/9/2021

Multiple tornadoes were reported across Northern Illinois the evening of August 9, 2021. A tornado watch was issued around 2:40 PM PM with the first tornado reports coming out south-central Wisconsin by 2:50 PM. The following video was captured around Sycamore, Illinois including several clips of tornadoes and then video was captured around Marengo, Illinois as 2 to 3 inches of rain fell during a very short period of time causing flash flooding.
Shot Description

Shot 1: Close range tornado in a corn field near Sycamore, Illinois with debris flying around it.
Shot 2: Another video of a tornado near Sycamore, Illinois that works across a field and hits a barn throwing damage in the air.
Shot 3: Tornado sirens going off in the town of Sycamore, Illinois as you drive through town.
Shot 4: Video of a tornado beginning to condense and develop as leaves are flying in the air in the foreground.
Shot 5: Another medium shot of tornado further developing.
Shot 6: Close range video of tornado working across a field and right in front of someone’s house. Debris is flying everywhere with trees and plants being ripped up.
Shot 7: Another video of a multi-vortex tornado going across a field near Sycamore, Illinois.
Shot 8-9: Video of the RFD, rear flank down draft working blowing over a tree, causing damage, and blowing corn over with debris falling out of the sky.
Shot 10: Video of flash flooding in an intersection from Marengo, Illinois after several inches of rain fell in a short period of time.
Shot 11: Close up of the flash flooding at the intersection with vehicles driving through the flood waters.
Shot 12-13: Very heavy rain continues to fall as flash flooding is ongoing and cars continue to drive through flooding.
Shot 14: Emergency personnel pulled over on the side of the road with lights on.
