Chicago Metro Area Winter Weather – 2/4/2021

Chicago experienced another winter storm that ushered in an arctic airmass on gusty west winds. Before the front hit, winds combined with snow rates exceeding 1.5 inches per hour during the afternoon rush hour slowing traffic tremendously. With temperatures just above freezing, the snow had a difficult time accumulating on roadways with mostly salt operations noted.
