West Frankfort, IL Night Street Flooding – 8/14/2016

Incredible rains continued to hammer southern IL with some areas receiving nearly a foot since Saturday. Major flash flooding has already occurred in areas nearby including Saturday's closure of US-51 in Tamaroa due to extreme flash flooding. Rains continued through the day on Sunday with flash flooding commencing again shortly before midnight in many already hard hit areas. Flash Flood Warnings went into effect for the overnight hours with more rain expected to add to an already bad problem through the day on Monday into Tuesday morning where Flash Flood Watches are currently slated to run through.
