Iowa was rocked by an MCS that rolled through in the late night of Saturday, May 6, 2015. This MCS packed quite a punch for the state regarding heavy rain fall and a beautiful lightning show as it crossed the Nebraska state line. The leading edge of the MCS had a large shelf cloud that was only visible due to the copious amounts of lightning. This storm had a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the northern edge where the lightning is more evident.
First 25 seconds. Time lapse of the shelf cloud as it approached my location 30 miles south of Sioux City, IA. At the time the northern edge of the storm had a Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued along with a Flash Flood Warning in the Sioux City area.
