An Arctic blast gripped the northern Denver Metro suburb of Thornton, CO on November 12, 2014. Temperatures measured in single digits on many area thermometers as shoppers scurried about in lightly falling snow. Workers did their best to stay warm while shoveling walkways. Snow plows had a hard time staying on the road in some cases and had to be pulled out of ditches. Horses on the other hand didn\'t seem to mind the cold weather. The outlook calls for below zero cold for overnight lows.
