10/1/2014 Perry County, KS Nighttime Storms

Northeast Kansas went under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch the evening of Wednesday, October 1, 2014.  Following this watch there was a severe thunderstorm that rolled through Perry, Kansas 26 miles north of Lawrence, Kansas with heavy rain and lightning.  The rain falling so heavy on Highway 24 that it was impossible to see the road at times.  Driving in a heavy downpour can be dangerous.  I was only able to drive about 5mph.
