1/292013 Kansas City, MO Winter Thunderstorm

Following the close to record breaking highs in Kansas City, Missouri we experienced mid 40 degree temps and ongoing Thunderstorms throughout the morning on January 29, 2013.

Due to the drought conditions in the Kansas City Metro area there where areas of localized street flooding in Mid-Town KC on Linwood. Cars proceeded to drive through the high waters creating waves and large splashes. Than, with the combination of warmth and cold a few of the man hole covers were steaming. Than on the Country Club Plaza, Brush Creek was flowing with debris from runoff rain water creating a creek full of leaves, trash, and broken off limbs. The people of KC were scarce except for one lady walking down the streets of the Country Club Plaza.
