8/29/2011 Last Chance, CO Big Hail Storm

Colorado has something Hurricane Irene never had; hail and lots of it! Severe storms moved across Eastern Colorado bringing torrential rain, wind, and hail. A strong storm northwest of Limon and exploded with ground-covering half-dollar sized hail near the town of Last Chance approximately 30 miles north of Limon.

Video package opens up with various shots of heavy hail falling hard on vehicles and the ground. Several shots of semi trucks, including one that pulls over to wait out the storm. Several shots of hail falling hard and heavy and covering the ground making it look like snow. Shots also include hail falling on the roof of a nearby building.

Various shots after the hail of storm clouds, including a weak wall cloud. Package ends with a very vivid double-rainbow on the backside of the storm.
