COLORADO CITY, Colo. -- Smoke from the Aspen Acres Fire rises over the mountains as seen from Colorado City, Colo., July 2, 2026. The fire, burning in Pueblo and Custer counties, has grown to more than 50,000 acres with 0% containment and prompted mandatory evacuations as crews continue suppression and structure-protection efforts.
