Just after midnight on the north side of Saint Cloud, MN, the brutal cold temperatures and clear sky was perfect to watch the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights.
The northern lights were were caused by a high-speed stream of solar wind that is buffeting Earth's magnetic field, and this is sparking bright auroras around over northern Minnesota.
