Video Description

Severe storms erupt across the western plains bringing an early round of storms with large hail and a couple brief tornadoes. But it was after dark when the storms really got going with a line of severe storms forming across eastern Colorado and stretching into New Mexico with high winds and hail.

Video package opens up with semi blown over form severe storm near Des Moines, New Mexico. Semi was overturned 2 miles east of the Des Moines rest area on US-87 at MM395. Shots include semi on its side with a cop. Driver was shaken up, but not seriously injured. Clayton recorded a wind gust of 62mph later as these same storms rolled through.

Package includes shots during the storm from the rest area with high winds and hail up to nickel-sized. Shots of high winds and hail falling through trees and on nearby cars. Shots of hail aftermath where hail piled up in drifts in the rest stop, including inside the main building. Last shot of hail in hand with nickel.
