Video Description
Snow tapered off across southern Illinois during the evening hours, but not before leaving its mark with several inches of heavy wet snow. Power was knocked out in scattered areas due to high winds and snow and a tow-ban was activated across southern IL through the afternoon.
Video package includes footage from mid-to-late afternoon in and around Marion, namely along I-57. Marion is approximately 2 hours south/southeast of St. Louis.
Scene 1: Wide shot of accident scene where a car rear-ended an I-DOT snowplow on I-57 southbound near Exit 53. The car had serious front-end damage and the snowplow was mostly undamaged. Driver of the car was treated at scene with minor injuries.
