8/13/2007 Extreme Metro Flooding Rains, Minneapolis area. Several inches of rain fell over the Minneapolis Minnesota metro area during the over night hours. Heavy rain backed up the storm sewers in downtown Minneapolis. The heavy rain flooded out interstate 494 at 12th Avenue, causing the interstate to be shut down until the drains were cleared. Also shows the highway 77 (cedar avenue) Minnesota River Bridge flooded out as the drains also clogged up.
