Video Description
A man in his 50s drives his white mini van off a seawall at a public park into the intracoastal waterway in Nokomis Florida near Venice Florida. Video shows the moment the van crashes into the water and floats north with the incoming tide and under the Albee Rd bridge as first responders arrive.
The driver was rescued and survived. The driver claimed he was from out of town and entered the park at dusk in heavy rain and could not see the seawall and water in the rain.
Time of the accident was 5:58 p.m.
Shot Description
00:00 2X zoom at the start of the video that shows the intracoastal waterway at Nokomis, FL. Headlights of van appear and then he drives over the sea wall and into the waterway.
