Hurricane Ike - Galveston, TX pre storm video. Footage from around the Galveston, TX area prior to Hurricane Ike making landfall. Video starts out with evacuation footage heading north during the overnight and southbound lands have no traffic at all. Video continues with footage prior to the landfall of Hurricane Ike around Surfside Beach as the last of the evacuations are taking place as the water is starting to rise and cover several of the roads. Footage of Rats escaping the rising flood waters. Video catalog continues along the seawall with large waves crashing on shore. Footage ends with people being dropped off from a rescue helicopter landing in a shopping mall parking lot to drop off residents who waited too long to drive out of the area and were trapped by rising storm surge waters.
