Video Description
Severe storms erupted across western Kansas bringing hail, high winds, and much needed (and very heavy) rain. Video package was shot on the initial storms before dark depicting the large hail that fell on the west side of Garden City. Video package opens up with various shots of the storm as it moved in, then has several dash shots during the storm, including a couple of falling hail. Last shots of hail compared with coins and a golf ball with the chasers measuring 1.50" hail 5WNW of Garden City with hail up to 2.00" measured with this storm.
Part two of the video is from a line of severe thunderstorms that developed earlier in the evening and continued well after dark with more storms moving through the Garden City area after dark. These storms produced very high winds, torrential rains (prompting Flash Flood Warnings), and dramatic lightning displays. Video package opens up with lightning over Garden City and closes with high winds and torrential rains on US-83 north of Garden City in Finney County.
