Wichita, KS Snowy Weather And Semi Truck Crash – 2/19/2020

Snow began to fall across Kansas during the day on Wednesday and started to fall in Wichita late Wednesday evening and immediately started to lead to slick conditions. Portions of I-70 were covered in snow leading to numerous wrecks as slick conditions developed very quickly. Snow started just after 9pm in Wichita and some slick spots developed quickly.

On I-135 northbound approaching US-54, a semi and highway truck collided closing northbound I-135. Numerous emergency vehicles were on scene of the wreck that left the semi sitting off the side of the highway with a gaping hole on the side of the trailer.

Snow was expected to continue overnight in Wichita with several inches of snow possible across the state through Thursday morning.
