Algonquin and McHenry, IL Fox River Flooding – 9/15/2019

Recent heavy rains in Illinois and Wisconsin have produced rapid rises on area rivers such as the Fox River, leading to a flood warning issuance from the National Weather Service in Chicago. Areas documented in McHenry and Algonquin, Illinois of moderate river flooding include the Algonquin Dam, Cornish Park, Buffalo Park Forest Preserve, and Riverdale Subdivision. All footage documented on September 15, 2019 during the afternoon hours.
Shot Description
Shots 1-8 – Scenes from flooded over Riverdale Road, in the Riverdale Subdivision, within McHenry, Illinois. An inundated vacation home, flooded properties, and driving through shots included.

Shots 9-15 – Scenes captured from Buffalo Park Forest Preserve of properties affected by flood waters on Winaki Trail in Algonquin, Illinois.

Shots 16-19 – Scenes captured from the Prairie Trail Bridge of properties affected by flood waters in Algonquin, Illinois.

Shots 20-36 – Scenes captured from Cornish Park including the Algonquin Dam which is completely open to allow flood waters to pass safely through.
