Wichita, KS hit by early morning severe storms – 8/25/2019

Severe storms with torrential rains moved across central Kansas overnight into very early Sunday morning, eventually moving into the Wichita area between 3-4am with strong winds and very heavy rain. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was in effect all night as a massive complex of storms moved through. Over an inch of rain fell in just under an hour leading to street flooding across the city of Wichita. Strong winds accompanied the storm with gusts over 50mph on the leading edge. Flood warnings were issued for the city until early Sunday morning as multiple rounds of storms moved through the region.
