Central Illinois Severe Thunderstorms and Damage – 8/20/2019

Documented severe thunderstorms leaving behind damage from excessive straight-line winds throughout Central Illinois on August 20, 2019. Several trees fell, power lines were downed, and thousands of dollars in property damage resulted from this storm complex, known as a bow echo, which originated in Iowa the night prior.

Shots 7-8 – Catlin PD temporarily blocking Paris Street for crews to safely clear debris.
