Major Flooding in West Frankfort, IL – 4/30/2017

Major flooding continues across southern Illinois after another night of rain and storms added several more inches of rain to the region, with a foot total in less than two days measured in several places. West Frankfort continues to suffer from flooding as neighborhoods on the north side of town remain closed off due to the flooding.

West Frankfort is off I-57 2 hours southeast of St. Louis.

Package includes shots of several of the couple dozen homes that were cut off due to flood waters. Video includes shots of houses surrounded by water with water coming up a foot or more on the homes. One lady sitting on her porch with her dog as flood waters surround her home. Various shots of street, including an intersection with a stop sign submerged nearly to the bottom of the sign itself, as well as vehicles driving through some of the flooded roads.
