2/19/2015 Kansas City, MO Fast Moving Snow Band

Kansas City, Missouri was hit by a fast moving snow band in the middle of the afternoon on Thursday, February 19, 2015. This snow band stayed localized on the northern and northeastern side of the area. I believe that the snow was coming down and a decent rate given that visibility in Midtown and on Highway 71 and Highway 29 north at times was down between a quarter mile to 200 yards. There was a lot of traffic on the roads during this snow event which also contributed to bad visibility on the Highway. Kansas City International Airport was still working and as I was there they were deicing planes and passengers were arriving and departing the airport causing a lot of traffic in the terminals as well.
