Sturgis, South Dakota was rocked with a heavy thunderstorm that rolled through right after sunset. The storm put down enough rain to cause flooding on the street corner of Lazelle and Middle St as the party was just getting started on the final weekend of Bike Week. But to add to the weather fun, hail fell on the bikers riding through the black hills. On a leisure ride today through the Black Hills National Forest we ran into a small storm which produced pea sized hail. As we were riding down the road trying to find a safe place to pull over because we were caught in the rain and hail. As we were looking for a tree to hide under the hail became larger. As I was on the back of the bike I experienced what every biker has gone through when they are out ridding in storms. There a few things that are involved with riding and the weather. Taking cover under a tree in a storm with lightning and thunder or staying on the bike with the rain and wind pounding you????
