Kansas City finally received much needed rain on the evening of Thursday, September 19, 2013.
KC was included in the lower part of the Storm Prediction Centers Slight Risk for the day. There was a line of storms that formed early in the after and around 5p/6p Kansas City started to see a little of that. The rain came in and hit hard with high winds and a downpour. Between 6p-9p there was an estimated 2"-3" that had fallen causing the metro area and surrounding areas to be put in an Areal Flood Advisory which turned into a Flash Flood Warning.
